Bengaluru-based sports technology startup Str8bat has raised $3.5 million (approximately ₹29.3 crore) in a series A funding round led by Exfinity Venture Partners.

The fundingdirectly integrating the sensor round also included investments from TRTL Ventures, Eternal Capital, and the VCats group, which consists of Venture Catalyst and VCgrid. Existing investors Techstars and SucSEED Indovation Fund also participated in the round.

Founded in 2018 by Gagan Daga, Rahul Nagar, and Madhusudan R, Str8bat has made a name for itself by offering real-time data analytics for cricket players through a sensor that attaches to the back of a bat. The device provides instant insights to players, helping them refine their techniques and enhance performance.

“We're thrilled to have the support of Exfinity Venture Partners and other prominent investors,” said co-founder Gagan Daga. “This funding will enable us to accelerate product development, introduce new product lines, and expand our marketing efforts and geographic reach.”

Str8bat’s mobile app provides detailed metrics such as bat speed, impact speed, and bat lift angle. The startup has also partnered with sports original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) like SG Cricket to develop a “smart willow” bat, directly integrating the sensor into the bat for seamless shot tracking without external devices or cameras.

With this new capital, Str8bat aims to drive further innovations in sports technology and reach a broader audience. The startup is set to leverage the funding to continue improving its core product and explore new markets for growth, signaling a promising future for the sports technology landscape.
