- Its flagship product, ARTEMIS, runs millions of adversarial tests to proactively protect GenAI apps from threats like prompt injections and data leaks.
Repello AI, a San Francisco and Bengaluru-based AI security startup, has raised $1.2 million in a seed funding round. The round was led by Venture Highway, recently acquired by General Catalyst, alongside pi Ventures, Entrepreneur First, and several angel investors, including Charles Songhurst (Meta Board Member), Vivek Raghavan (CEO, Sarvam.ai), and Satya Vyas (CEO, Project Hero).
Founded in 2024 by IIT Roorkee alumni Aryaman Behera and Naman Mishra, Repello AI is focused on proactively protecting Generative AI applications from advanced and evolving threats. These include prompt injection attacks, sensitive data leaks, data poisoning, and other vulnerabilities that can lead to reputational or financial harm.
The newly secured funds will be used to boost product development, enhance red teaming and threat intelligence capabilities, and scale go-to-market strategies through partnerships and integrations.
Repello AI’s core product, ARTEMIS (Automated Red Teaming Engine for Mapping, Identification and Scanning), is positioned as the first continuous security platform specifically for GenAI applications. It proactively identifies vulnerabilities through automated adversarial tests across text, image, and audio inputs delivering actionable guardrails and mitigation strategies.
Complementing ARTEMIS is Repello Guard, a threat monitoring tool that offers runtime security across modalities. It detects threats like unsafe outputs, system prompt leaks, and even competitor mentions, providing real-time protection for AI applications.
“We're at an inflection point where AI adoption is accelerating faster than security solutions can keep pace,” said Aryaman Behera, Co-Founder & CEO of Repello AI.
His Co-Founder & CTO, Naman Mishra, added that their approach aims to preempt threats “before they are exploited.” pi Ventures’ Roopan Aulakh highlighted the GenAI-native foundation of Repello’s solution and its focus on identifying unknown threats with precision.
