Deck, a Montreal-based startup, has secured $12 million in Series A funding to advance its mission of making every website as accessible as an API.
The round, led by Infinity Ventures with participation from Intact Ventures, Better Tomorrow Ventures, Golden Ventures, and Luge Capital, brings Deck’s total funding to $16.5 million since its January 2024 launch.
Founded by Frederick Lavoie, Yves-Gabriel Leboeuf, and Bruno Lambert, who previously built Flinks, dubbed “Plaid for Canada”, Deck aims to solve a widespread problem: valuable user data is often locked behind logins and portals with no easy way to extract or share it securely.
Deck’s AI-powered browser agents automate the process, logging in, navigating, and extracting data from any website, even those lacking APIs.
The platform then transforms this data into structured, reusable formats, powering tasks like accounting, compliance, KYC, and business verification.
Deck’s infrastructure emphasises user consent, operating in a dual-consent environment where both the end user and the client must authorise access.
The company has already connected to over 100,000 utility providers in more than 40 countries, with clients ranging from energy firms like EnergyCAP to music and food-tech companies such as Notes.fm and Evive Smoothies.
Deck’s pricing model is performance-based, charging only for successful data pulls, and its developer adoption is growing rapidly, with connection volumes up 120% month-over-month.
Looking ahead, Deck plans to launch a data vertical creator, enabling developers to set up access for any industry or portal in minutes.
With 30 employees and a growing global footprint, Deck is poised to reshape how businesses access and utilise online data.
