- Its flagship product, the MetaShot Smart Bat, tracks real-world cricket shots in real time and integrates them into gameplay.
Bengaluru-based MetaShot, a console gaming startup operated by Gillidanda Tech Pvt. Ltd., has secured ₹2 crore in funding from the Karnataka Information Technology Venture Capital Fund (KITVEN).
The investment was made through convertible debt from KITVEN 4 AVGC, an Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) backed by the Government of Karnataka.
The fresh infusion will support the company's growth and market expansion. The company is known for its flagship product, the MetaShot Smart Bat.
This bat tracks real-world cricket shots in real time and syncs them seamlessly with gameplay on the MetaShot app, offering an immersive hybrid experience between physical and virtual play.
Founded in 2021 by Prince Thomas, Ranjit Kumar Behera, and Ajith Sunny, MetaShot’s technology delivers a console-like experience tailored to a broader audience.
The proprietary technology, currently under a pending patent, is entirely India-made and assembled in Bangalore.
“MetaShot exemplifies the innovation and quality emerging from Karnataka’s thriving startup ecosystem.
With an entirely India-made product and localized manufacturing and assembly in Bangalore, MetaShot stands out for its quality,” said P. V. Harikrishnan, CEO of KITVEN. “At KITVEN, we’re excited to partner with them and help take this innovation to the global stage.”
This latest investment follows ₹11 crore raised in January 2025 through a mix of equity and debt, led by Sauce.VC, with participation from Sharrp Ventures and Panthera Peak Capital.
Before that, MetaShot closed a $400,000 pre-seed round in 2023 led by Inflection Point Ventures.
“I’m deeply grateful to the Government of Karnataka and the startup ecosystem that empowers companies like ours,” said Prince Thomas, Co-founder of MetaShot.
KITVEN 4 AVGC, with a corpus of ₹20 crore, focuses on startups in the animation, visual effects, gaming, and comics (AVGC) sector across Karnataka.
