Deep science startup Iom Bioworks has raised ₹4 crore in a seed funding round led by Gurugram-based angel investment firm Inflection Point Ventures (IPV). The capital infusion will be used to bolster the company’s marketing efforts, secure intellectual property rights, and strengthen both its core infrastructure and commercial and scientific teams.
Founded in 2022 by Bipin Pradeep Kumar, Dr. Samik Ghosh, and Dr. Hiroaki Kitano, Iom Bioworks focuses on personalising health by identifying and modulating key bacteria in the gut. The company’s patented platform integrates AI-driven large-scale knowledge graphs and advanced modeling techniques to offer accurate, tailored health recommendations.
The startup’s approach aims to tackle lifestyle-related diseases by addressing gut microbiome imbalances, conditions often triggered by poor diet, stress, and lack of sleep.
“Lifestyle diseases have been on the rise due to multiple reasons like poor diet, stress, lack of sleep and are intimately linked to poor gut health and microbial composition,” said Vinay Bansal, Founder of IPV.
Within its first year of operation, Iom Bioworks reached over 500 customers. It currently holds two granted patents, with two more in advanced stages. The company also boasts scientific publications in leading journals, underlining the credibility of its research-based approach. Iom Bioworks has also established pan-India logistics and digital channels for delivering its personalised microbiome services.
Sharing the impact of their partnership with IPV, co-founder Bipin Pradeep Kumar said,
“Partnering with IPV has been transformative; their supportive and diligent approach has set us firmly on the path toward this vision.”
With a mission rooted in microbiome science, the startup aims to reimagine preventive healthcare through personalised, gut-centric solutions.
