Datagram, a decentralized infrastructure (DePIN) startup, has raised $4 million in a pre-seed round led by Blizzard, the Avalanche Fund, to build a sovereign Layer 1 blockchain repurposing idle global resources into a real-time, high-performance decentralized network.
We’re excited to share that Datagram has raised $4M in pre-seed funding for marketing led by @avax's @BlizzardFund, with participation from @animocabrands, @depin_x, and other top-tier investors.

Joining Blizzard in the round were Animoca Brands, Amber Group, Cointelegraph, Aquanow, Arche Fund, DePIN X Capital, ISKRA, JDI Ventures, Yellow Capital, and several angel investors from top blockchain infrastructure firms. The funds will be used to expand node deployments, onboard partners, and prepare for Datagram’s upcoming node sale and mainnet launch.
Datagram’s mission is to transform underutilized infrastructure—such as unused bandwidth, CPUs, and storage—into a global, AI-optimized backbone for decentralized apps.
According to the company, up to 80% of global connectivity resources remain idle. Its Hyper-Fabric Network taps into this latent capacity to serve high-demand sectors like gaming, AI, and communications.
Built on Avalanche’s high-throughput Layer 1, Datagram offers deterministic finality and ultra-low latency, while maintaining composability with over 200 enterprise partners and 1 million+ users in the Avalanche ecosystem.
“Avalanche shares our belief that real-time infrastructure must be decentralized, efficient, and open,” said Jason Brink, CEO of Datagram.
The project’s roadmap includes strategic partnerships in gaming, telecom, and AI, alongside a rollout of an AI-powered routing engine that optimizes node traffic worldwide. A public Alpha Testnet is also in the works, allowing users to run nodes and earn $DGRAM tokens for contributing to network performance.
“Datagram is building the missing link between underutilized infrastructure and real-time Web3 applications,” said Lydia Chiu, SVP and CIO at Blizzard. Leigh Travers of Animoca Brands added, “Infrastructure is the foundation for digital freedom. Datagram unlocks a scalable model for real-world demands, from gaming to AI to the open metaverse.”
With its sights set on the mainnet, Datagram is positioning itself as a foundational layer for decentralized connectivity, aiming to redefine how Web3 applications access and distribute global computational resources.
