Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has laid out specific conditions for potential talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, emphasizing that such a meeting would only occur after establishing a common strategy with U.S. President Donald Trump and European leaders.

The announcement, made at the Munich Security Conference, marks a decisive stance in Ukraine's approach to peace negotiations.

Speaking in English at the conference, Zelenskiy was unequivocal about his position: "I will meet with only one Russian guy, with Putin, only after we will have a common plan with Trump, Europe. And we will sit with Putin and stop the war. Only in this case, I am ready to meet."

The Ukrainian leader also revealed an interesting development in U.S.-Ukraine relations, sharing details of his recent conversation with President Trump.

In their first communication since Trump took office, the U.S. president provided Zelenskiy with his personal phone number, offering direct access for future communications.

The exchange between the two leaders included a moment of diplomatic levity, as Zelenskiy recounted: "It was funny... He said 'You can call me anytime you want.' I said to him yes, thank you so much. But the previous time you said to me that you can call me directly anytime and did not give me your phone number."
