Chalk, a digital platform for AI inference, was founded in 2022 by Marc Freed-Finnegan, Elliot Marx, and Andy Moreland. This platform allows businesses to incorporate proprietary data into AI and machine learning models for real-time decision-making.
Chalk’s technology powers sectors such as finance, healthcare, and e-commerce by addressing the critical need for fast, modern data pipelines.
It is used by clients like MoneyLion for instant fraud detection and loan approvals and by Sunrun to optimize solar panel placement.
“This funding marks a huge milestone and a powerful validation of our vision for real-time AI infrastructure, said CEO Marc Freed-Finnegan.
Chalk's Compute Engine eliminates complicated ETL procedures by enabling developers to create features in Python and have them instantly compiled into high-performance Rust and C++ pipelines. Its LLM toolchain facilitates smooth integrations with leading model suppliers by combining structured and unstructured data.
Chalk's technical and go-to-market teams in San Francisco and New York will grow, platform development will be expedited, and customer onboarding will be expanded with the $50 million investment.
Taking advantage of the AI explosion, Chalk, a rival to industry titans like Databricks and Snowflake, sets itself apart with real-time data processing.
As companies scramble to use AI for productivity and creativity, this milestone highlights the growing need for strong AI infrastructure.
