• TVS Motor reports 107% YoY growth in May, selling 24,562 electric two-wheelers and maintaining market leadership for the second straight month.
  • TVS continues to dominate the E2W segment, supported by an expanded retail network of 950 touchpoints and new iQube variants.

With a 107% year-over-year (YoY) gain in May, TVS Motor maintained its dominance in the electric two-wheeler (E2W) market for the second consecutive month. Due to a broader retail network and an increased range of goods, the company sold 24,562 E2Ws in total.

In May, when E2W sales reached their second-highest monthly volume of the year, the Chennai-based manufacturer enjoyed a 24% market share.

In April 2025, total registered electric vehicle sales in India were 167,520 units, and March 2025 saw 204,798 units.

The company's rising retail presence and diversifying portfolio are credited with its gains. It expanded its E2W network to 950 touchpoints, up from less than 750 a year ago, and introduced new iQube models with 2.2 kWh, 3.4 kWh, and 5.1 kWh battery options.

With 19,940 iQube scooters sold and a 22% market share, TVS Motor surpassed Bajaj Auto to take the lead in April.

Ola Electric, on the other hand, has sold 44,502 units in the first two months of FY26, exceeding its guidance of 65,000 units. With 12,841 units sold in May, Ather Energy, which recently went public, saw a 109% year-over-year increase. This growth was fueled by the Ather Rizta, the company's family scooter, and network expansion outside of its southern strongholds.

Bajaj and Ola Electric were tied for the same market share in April. Ola, however, lost steam and dropped to third place last month.
