Crypto wallet and Web3 gateway, Trust Wallet, yesterday reported a zero-day iMessage exploit that can compromise iPhones without the need to click any link. High-value targets are likely, and each use increases the risk of detection.

Trust Wallet shared another post on X (previously Twitter), further elaborating the whole matter as this news got a lot of reach.

The wallet provider said that the “intel” was obtained through continuous monitoring of security threats in collaboration with partners and researchers, and later confirmed by the company. 

The vulnerability could affect anyone using iOS with iMessage, with high-net-worth individuals being the most likely targets.

“This could effect anyone, but as we stated; the likely targets are high net-worth individuals as the most lucrative targets. We don't know how much you all HODL, but as the risk is there for anyone - we outlined the safest course of action for you all,” wrote Trust Wallet on X.

Addressing speculations from the community, Trust Wallet clarified that “this is not a Trust Wallet issue”. It also clarified that it does not have a negative bias against iMessage.
