• Speaker Games secured $5M from a16z's Speedrun, London Venture Partners, and BRV.
  • The arcade-style game on Telegram offers passive blockchain rewards without complicating gameplay, inspired by Vampire Survivors.

Spekter Agency, a Web3-enhanced roguelite action game now accessible via Telegram, marks the debut release of Spekter Games Inc., a San Francisco-based company that has raised $5 million in a pre-seed fundraising round.

Prominent investors, such as London Venture Partners, BRV Capital, and a16z's Speedrun program, supported the fundraising, which was revealed on June 26, 2025.

This shows that Spekter's plan to combine Web2 and Web3 gaming for general audiences is a vision that has great support.

With its fast-paced, arcade-style gameplay designed for Telegram's Mini Apps infrastructure, Spekter Agency draws inspiration from popular games like Vampire Survivors.

It takes advantage of the platform's 1 billion+ monthly active users to provide smooth onboarding and rapid play.

By incorporating passive blockchain benefits, the game improves player retention and engagement without the complexity that Web3 gaming is known for.

Spekter's strategy puts enjoyment first, making sure Web3 incentives enhance rather than overpower the main experience.

Spekter Games, founded by former nWay CEO Taehoon Kim, combines extensive knowledge of Web2 and Web3 development.

Kim emphasized, “We’re building games players love for the gameplay, not just the rewards. By keeping these systems passive and behind the scenes, we’re showing that it’s possible to bring Web3-enhanced games to the mainstream without compromising gameplay.”

By combining Web3's potential for virality and loyalty with conventional in-app purchase structures, the company hopes to completely transform mobile gaming.

Spekter Games is positioned to take the lead in easily accessible, high-retention gaming within super app ecosystems, and they have already begun work on a second game.

Industry veteran and serial entrepreneur Taehoon Kim, who has over 20 years of expertise in the gaming industry and has launched several successful firms, founded Spekter Games.

With their extensive knowledge of both Web2 and Web3 game production, Kim and the Spekter team are in a unique position to create games that are widely accepted by bridging the gap between the two platforms.
