The high-profile Web3 game built on the Solana blockchain is set to introduce AI-powered agents from SingularityNET to revolutionize in-game interactions.

SingularityNET, a founding member of the Artificial SuperIntelligence Alliance, announced on Wednesday that it will integrate AI agents into the spacefaring online world of Star Atlas.

Star Atlas, a blockchain-based space exploration RPG set in the year 2620, remains in development. A pre-alpha ‘Showroom’ experience was introduced on the Epic Games Store in September 2022.

In October 2023, its developer ATMTA launched SAGE Labs (Star Atlas Golden Era), a browser-based game that is part of the larger Star Atlas universe.

ATMTA has partnered with SingularityNET to integrate Autonomous Intelligent Reinforcement Interpreted Symbolism (AIRIS), an AI system designed to enhance immersion by enabling AI agents to interact dynamically within the game world.

“Integrating advanced AI is about building the ultimate world-building moments and celebrating players in our dynamic, decentralized ecosystem,” ATMTA co-founder and CEO Michael Wagner said in a statement.

With this integration, Star Atlas moves beyond traditional static gaming mechanics, offering an experience where AI-driven interactions shape the player’s journey.

Players will be able to interact with NPCs that learn and adapt, making each gaming session unique.

This approach aligns with the broader trend of integrating AI with blockchain gaming to push the boundaries of interactive entertainment.

OpenCog Hyperon, an open-source AI framework developed by SingularityNET, is designed to enable human-like cognition by learning, storing, and reasoning from experience.

These AI technologies form the backbone of SingularityNET’s contribution to Star Atlas, allowing in-game NPCs to evolve and interact dynamically with players.

Similarly, AIRIS is an AI system that learns through interaction with its environment, allowing it to solve problems autonomously without relying on predefined instructions.

The Solana ecosystem has seen growing interest in Web3 gaming, and Star Atlas continues to be one of its most ambitious projects.

With AI-powered NPCs and blockchain integration, Star Atlas is pushing the boundaries of decentralized gaming, redefining player-driven experiences.
