• Ex-ShareChat CXO Shashank Shekhar is raising $4M for a stealth AI-led learning startup, with Peak XV Partners leading the round.
  • The startup, modelled after platforms like Seekho, is expected to launch later this year and expand its AI and product teams.
  • Shekhar’s new venture will compete with both dedicated learning platforms and creator-driven content on social media.

Shashank Shekhar, the former head of content strategy and operations at ShareChat, is set to raise $4 million for his new AI-driven learning startup, according to sources familiar with the deal.

The funding round is being led by Peak XV Partners, with participation from several early-stage institutional and angel investors.

The startup, which remains in stealth mode, has been quietly under development for several months and is expected to launch later this year.

Early prototypes are already in place, and the company is reportedly modelled after career-focused learning platforms like Seekho, which itself is in talks to raise $25–30 million.

Shekhar’s track record in the digital content space is notable. After serving as Head of Content at ShareChat from 2016 to 2018, he co-founded Circle Internet, a hyperlocal information platform acquired by ShareChat in 2020.

He continued as Head of Content Strategy and Operations at the Google-backed social media giant until his resignation in March 2025.

Sources indicate that the $4 million capital infusion will be used to expand the startup’s AI and product teams, accelerate development, and prepare for an initial rollout. The company’s name has not yet been disclosed.

While Shekhar’s venture will directly compete with Seekho, it will also face indirect competition from platforms like YouTube Shorts and Instagram, which are increasingly popular for creator-led educational content.
