- PLUS Malaysia and Yinson GreenTech have partnered to launch the country’s first retail and EV charging hub at the Seremban R&R on the NSE.
- The project supports Malaysia’s Low Carbon Mobility Blueprint 2030 and aims to accelerate EV adoption with high-speed DC chargers and enhanced amenities.
The largest highway operator in the country, PLUS Malaysia, has teamed up with Yinson GreenTech to build the country's first retail and EV charging center at the Seremban Rest and Service Area (Southbound) on the North-South Expressway (NSE).
These hubs will assist Malaysia in reaching the National Energy Transition Roadmap's objective of having net-zero emissions by 2050. They will improve the nation's electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, creating a strong and dependable network along important thoroughfares.
To provide a lively stopover experience, PLUS will be in charge of the development and administration of the hub's food and beverage (F&B) and commercial retail components.
To help EV users who are concerned about their range, Yinson GreenTech will install, run, and maintain high-speed direct current (DC) fast chargers.
“This partnership is an important step in supporting Malaysia’s Low Carbon Mobility Blueprint 2030,” said Nik Airina Nik Jaffar, Managing Director of PLUS. “It also moves us closer to building a smart, eco-friendly highway that gives our customers a better travel experience.”
With 112 DC fast-charging stations now activated on PLUS highways, the project surpasses the 2025 target of 10,000 EV charging stations countrywide, which is in line with the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry.
By converting Malaysia's highways into environmentally friendly, electric vehicle-friendly thoroughfares, our collaboration establishes a standard for future hubs.
Yinson GreenTech CEO Lim Chern Yuan emphasized the hub’s role in addressing EV adoption barriers, stating,
“With dependable chargers at critical locations, we aim to accelerate Malaysia’s green mobility ambitions.”
PLUS is one of the leading highway operators in Southeast Asia and the largest in Peninsular Malaysia. It oversees almost 1.8 million drivers every day on 1,130 km of highways, which make up 91% of all interstate roadways in the nation.
Yinson GreenTech is a division of the multinational energy and technology corporation Yinson Holdings Berhad.
