Gurugram-based agritech startup Pehle Jaisa has raised $300,000 in a pre-Series A round led by Pantnagar Capital and Climate Angels, aiming to accelerate its decentralised rural waste-to-fertilizer model across Indian villages.

Founded in 2022, Pehle Jaisa is on a mission to transform agricultural and organic waste into value-added products like bio-stimulants, soil conditioners, and organic fertilisers.

The startup’s innovative model emphasises hyperlocal production, processing waste within the same village where it’s generated. This approach not only reduces transportation costs and emissions but also allows the startup to provide affordable agricultural inputs to farmers.

Hyperlocal, Sustainable, and Scalable

The funding marks the next phase in Pehle Jaisa’s journey to create self-reliant rural economies.

With this latest infusion of capital, the company plans to expand its network of local waste processing centres and deepen its roots in India’s agricultural heartlands.

The model aligns with the startup’s broader vision, empowering villages to generate their gas, electricity, and fertiliser from local waste streams.

By keeping production and consumption within the same community, Pehle Jaisa is fostering circular economies and minimising environmental impact.

The startup’s founding team, Pankaj Pandey, Ehtesham Farooqui, Shabih Abbas, Sumit Suman, Wasim Akhtar, and Mantosh Kumar, has already demonstrated strong traction.

In its first eight months, Pehle Jaisa sold over 500 metric tonnes (MT) of fertiliser in FY24. That number tripled in FY25, with the company selling more than 1,500 MT and generating over Rs 2.5 crore in revenue.

Building on this momentum, Pehle Jaisa has now set its sights on an ambitious growth target: crossing Rs 100 crore in revenue over the next few years.
