• Omnia, a U.S.-based XR company, has acquired Silicon Valley-backed AR startup SpotKwik to enhance spatial computing and enterprise-driven AR adoption.
  • The acquisition integrates SpotKwik’s AR capabilities into Omnia’s ecosystem, enabling seamless conversion of web-based experiences into spatial-ready applications.

Omnia, a U.S.-based extended reality (XR) company, has acquired SpotKwik, a Silicon Valley-backed augmented reality (AR) startup. The financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Founded in 2020, SpotKwik initially focused on social commerce, using AR to allow users to virtually try on and purchase products. The startup gained traction by partnering with platforms such as Meesho and Amazon, onboarding over 17,000 influencers.

However, SpotKwik later shifted to a B2B model, working with enterprises and brands, including Framekart, Click2Collab, and GladUCame, to offer AR-driven retail and marketing solutions.

Mithun Adith, co-founder and CEO of SpotKwik, noted that the acquisition aligns with the company’s long-term vision of moving beyond mobile-based AR into spatial computing.

"While SpotKwik’s AR technology serves the platforms of today—smartphones—we aim to build for the platforms of tomorrow: headsets like Apple Vision Pro, freeing apps from the boundaries of a display and enabling them to appear as if seen through our real eyes. Omnia, with its XR distribution expertise and notable clients such as Tesla, AOI, and GM, is the perfect partner to help us build the future," he said.

Omnia operates as a marketplace for AR creators, enterprises, and brands, delivering spatial experiences for major U.S.-based clients. By acquiring SpotKwik, Omnia aims to integrate its R&D and product capabilities, strengthening its position in spatial computing.

Aldo Petruzzelli, CEO and founder of Omnia, described the acquisition as a strategic step toward bridging web-based experiences with spatial computing.

"By integrating SpotKwik’s capabilities, we’re enabling seamless conversion of web-based builds into spatial-ready applications, accelerating adoption across industries. This not only enhances content discoverability in AR and XR environments but also ensures that developers can effortlessly deploy their projects into the next era of computing without needing to rebuild from scratch," he said.

Before finalizing the deal with Omnia, SpotKwik had engaged in acquisition talks with Karan Johar’s Tyaani Jewellers, aiming to create India’s first spatial jewelry showroom. However, the discussions did not materialize.

SpotKwik’s core team will continue working under Omnia, focusing on developing immersive solutions for enterprise and consumer applications.

Looking ahead, Adith hinted at future entrepreneurial plans, acknowledging the support of early backers and their contributions. He expressed gratitude for their efforts, stating that he remains indebted to them both on Earth and, eventually, on Mars when humanity expands its presence there.
