LLUMO AI, an artificial intelligence (AI) optimization company tackling the high costs and performance challenges of Generative AI, today announced that it has raised $1 million (₹8 crores) in seed funding. The investment round was led by SenseAI Ventures, an AI-focused venture capital fund, with participation from India Quotient, AumVC, Venture Catalyst, IIM Indore Alumni Angel fund, and US-based angel investors.
The seed funding will help LLUMO AI tackle the challenges businesses face when integrating Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) into their products. It will also support their expansion into the US market and the development of an enterprise-grade platform that integrates with existing AI workflows.
“We founded LLUMO AI with a clear mission: to democratise access to Generative AI and help businesses unlock its true potential. Our platform not only addresses the critical challenges of cost and performance but also empowers our customers to make data-driven decisions that accelerate growth and transform customer experiences. With this funding, we are one step closer to realising our vision of making Generative AI accessible, affordable, and impactful for businesses worldwide,” said Shivam Gupta, Founder of LLUMO AI.
As companies explore Generative AI, they often face two key challenges: assessing LLM performance in real-world scenarios and managing high costs, especially in Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines where token sizes can increase significantly. After experiencing these issues with their previous product Instaminutes and consulting over 100 AI companies, the Llumo team identified these as common industry problems.
To address these issues, LLUMO AI developed a platform that reduces Generative AI costs by up to 80% and offers insights into LLM performance. Their solution features two proprietary tiny LLMs: one that compresses prompts to cut costs without losing quality, and Eval-LM, which evaluates LLM outputs without needing ground truth data. These innovations enable businesses to optimize LLM usage, iterate faster, and grow cost-effectively.
