- Practo has launched its consumer platform in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah with over 31,000 doctors and 3,000 healthcare facilities onboarded.
- Over 50,000 users in the UAE are actively using Practo’s services each month.
Indian digital health startup Practo is bringing its core consumer platform to the United Arab Emirates, marking a significant step in its global expansion strategy. The Bengaluru-based company, which began as a doctor discovery service nearly two decades ago, has officially launched Practo.com in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah.
While Practo has had a strong enterprise presence in the UAE through its hospital software arm, Insta by Practo, used by institutions like Emirates Hospital and Life Medical Centre, this new move targets consumers directly.
A Comprehensive Platform for Patients
The platform now enables UAE residents to access verified doctors across multiple specialities, including dermatology, dentistry, ENT, gynaecology, and psychiatry. Over 50,000 users in the region are already using Practo’s services monthly. The company has entered the UAE market with more than 31,000 doctors and 3,000 healthcare facilities on board.
Unlike traditional hospital networks, Practo aims to offer an integrated experience that includes appointment booking, patient reviews, and doctor discovery, all on a single platform.
Insurance Integration and Cross-Border Support
In a region where healthcare is closely tied to insurance, Practo will soon integrate insurance data at the doctor level, an update expected by the end of the month. This aims to empower patients with more transparent and informed choices.
The platform also supports continuity of care between Indian and Gulf-based users, helping patients search by symptoms, surgeries, and treatment options, not just doctors or specialities.
Among early healthcare partners in the UAE are Sulaiman Habib Hospital, e-Kaya Skin Clinic, Micris Dental, Smile on Dental Clinic, and Quintinha Hospitals.
“The initial response in the UAE has been encouraging... This is just the beginning as we scale our efforts to improve healthcare outcomes worldwide,” said Shashank ND, Practo’s co-founder and CEO.
