- Lion Group Holding secured a $600 million funding line from ATW Partners to launch a reserve asset strategy centred on HYPE, SOL, and SUI.
- The company plans to stake SOL and SUI through BitGo-managed validators and pursue a dual listing in Tokyo and Singapore.
Hong Kong-based financial holding company Lion Group Holding (LGHL), listed on the Nasdaq, has unveiled a new crypto reserve asset strategy centred on Hyperliquid (HYPE), Solana (SOL), and Sui (SUI).
The move is backed by a substantial JPY 870 billion ($600 million) funding facility from ATW Partners, as announced on June 25.
To execute the initiative, LGHL has partnered with BitGo, a leading cryptocurrency custody firm. Under the plan, HYPE will be strategically accumulated as LGHL’s primary reserve asset.
Meanwhile, the BitGo Trust Company will be the custodian of SOL and SUI and stake them with validators managed by BitGo to generate yield.
Expanding Global Presence Through Dual Listing
Despite a current market capitalisation of under $1.5 million, LGHL is preparing for a dual listing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange and the Singapore Stock Exchange.
If successful, it will become the first publicly traded Asian firm to hold HYPE as a reserve asset.
“Hyperliquid embodies our belief in decentralized on-chain trading and will expand our derivatives business,” said CEO Wang Chunning.
He also noted that Solana and Sui align with LGHL’s strategic focus on execution efficiency.
Institutional Interest in HYPE Grows
Mike Belshe, CEO of BitGo, emphasised the broader trend in institutional adoption:
“The $600 million funding facility represents an accelerated diversification of institutional cryptocurrency investments.”
The first tranche of funding, valued at $10.6 million, is expected to close within 48 hours, with Chardan Capital Markets acting as the exclusive sales agent.
This announcement comes amid a rising trend, with companies such as Nasdaq-listed Eyenovia Inc. and CSE-listed HYLQ Strategy Corp. recently adopting HYPE as a financial asset.
