In a major strategic move, Peeyush Ranjan, former CTO at Flipkart and a seasoned Google executive, has joined Mukesh Bansal’s startup incubator, Meraki Labs, as a partner.
Based in San Francisco, Ranjan is expected to play a crucial role in expanding Meraki’s footprint in Silicon Valley and leading its artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives.
Ranjan’s appointment marks a key milestone for Meraki Labs, which aims to serve as a launchpad for AI-first startups.
Speaking about his new role, Ranjan said,
“Meraki's focus is to be a moonshot factory for amazing projects, and in today's day, AI is a key component of that. A big part of my role will be to guide the AI vision for Meraki… Not just applying AI for the sake of it.”
He also emphasized the strategic advantage of being in Silicon Valley, highlighting access to global talent and robust networks. At Meraki, Ranjan will be closely involved in mentoring founders, refining product and technology strategies, and identifying impactful problem areas for AI innovation.
As part of his responsibilities, Ranjan will also join the board of Nurix AI, an enterprise AI startup incubated by Meraki that raised $27.5 million in seed funding from Accel and General Catalyst in September last year.
The company focuses on building custom AI agents for business functions such as customer support and sales, areas Ranjan describes as “tedious, error-prone, and ripe for AI-led disruption.” He will contribute to shaping the technical architecture and key leadership hires for Nurix.
Mukesh Bansal, founder of Meraki Labs and co-founder of Myntra, welcomed Ranjan's entry, calling it a significant step in building transformative AI companies.
