• Fileverse, an Ethereum-based startup, recently launched dSheets, a decentralised spreadsheet alternative to Google Sheets and Excel.
  • dSheets offers enhanced privacy with end-to-end encryption and blockchain integration, appealing to users seeking control over their data.

With the announcement of dSheets on June 17, 2025, Fileverse, an Ethereum-based business specializing in productivity tools, is making a major foray into the spreadsheet market, which has been dominated for more than 40 years by Google and Microsoft.

Fileverse intends to use blockchain technology to offer a privacy-centered, middleman-free alternative, according to reports from several websites.

Unlike traditional spreadsheets, dSheets allows one to import data from analytics tools such as Dune and decentralised networks such as Farcaster, query smart contracts, and perform on-chain transactions.

The platform promises to give secure and private online interactions by enabling ZK-authentication, end-to-end encryption, and real-time collaboration.

Similar to Fileverse's earlier product, dDocs, a decentralized text editor, users have the option to open a new document by simply typing "dsheets.new" in their browser.

With IPFS for decentralised data storage, dSheets on the Ethereum mainnet, Base L2, and Gnosis Chain allow users to distribute databases with communities without relying on central servers.

As Fileverse explains, dSheets offers a modern alternative for privacy-concerned users and Web3 enthusiasts, ending the "duopoly of closed, proprietary software" that has dominated the spreadsheet market for so long.

The platform also has customizable templates that are specifically created for cryptocurrency use, raising its appeal to blockchain developers.

According to user reviews, dSheets, currently in its first version, will get updated weekly.

The vision of the project is to reimagine data management within decentralized environments and is backed by a $1.5 million pre-seed investment from Gnosis Chain and Factor in 2023.

With its collaboration-oriented capabilities and crypto-native features, dSheets is a revolutionary solution for the workplace of tomorrow.
