  • According to  DeVC's Divyanshi Chowdhary, Felicity has a unique vision to mobilize the growing ecosystem of Indie developers.

Indian mobile developer and publisher, Felicity Games has secured $700K in pre-seed funding. This round of funding saw participation from venture capital firms like DeVC and Visceral Capital.

Prominent angel investors like Kunal Shah of CRED, former Nazara CEO Manish Agarwal, Sriharsha Majety and Nandan Reddy of Swiggy, and Sameer Pittalwala, Head of Gaming at Google Cloud (APAC), also support Felicity.

"Felicity has a unique vision to mobilize the growing ecosystem of Indie developers with the capability of producing high-quality game prototypes at a fraction of the cost," says DeVC's Divyanshi Chowdhary.

He also stated that the gaming company combines an objective approach to commercial testing with iterations on non-conventional channels to drive risk-adjusted growth for new IPs, unlocking developer-friendly publishing for the indie ecosystem.

Former Swiggy executive Anurag Choudhary founded Felicity Games in 2023. It has launched over 10 game titles within a year, available for free on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

"Given our cost and skill advantages, Felicity Games is well placed to build a multi-million-dollar casual gaming business from India for the world," said Anurag Choudhary.

According to a market research and consulting firm specializing in video games, e-sports, and streaming in Asia, Niko Partners, India is the fastest-growing games market in the region, both in terms of revenue and gamers. The combined revenue from mobile, PC, and console gaming is projected to reach $943 million in 2024, marking a 13.6 percent increase from $830 million in 2023.

Additionally, the market is expected to exceed $1 billion in 2025 and reach $1.4 billion by 2028, with a five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11.1 percent. These projections exclude revenues from real-money games and exports.
