SaaS-based food commerce platform FarMart has entered into a strategic partnership with rooftop solar provider Aerem to integrate clean energy solutions across India’s agri-food supply chain. The collaboration aims to address one of the sector’s pressing challenges: access to reliable and cost-effective energy, especially for food processing units.
By embedding Aerem’s rooftop solar systems into FarMart’s vast network, the initiative is set to enhance energy efficiency and reduce operational costs for thousands of food processors and aggregators. The move also supports wider sustainability goals by minimizing emissions and improving energy uptime.
FarMart’s decentralized and tech-enabled supply platform already connects over 3.8 million farmers, more than 1,500 processors, and over 4,000 food businesses across India, the Middle East, and Africa. Its end-to-end digital infrastructure enables efficient sourcing, aggregation, and distribution of agricultural produce.
Aerem, on the other hand, offers a full-stack rooftop solar ecosystem tailored for MSMEs. With its digital platform, RBI-licensed NBFC, and curated B2B marketplace of verified OEMs, EPCs, and distributors, Aerem simplifies and scales solar adoption for small and mid-sized enterprises.
Commenting on the partnership, Anand Jain, Founder & CEO of Aerem, said,
“Our partnership with FarMart Solaris is a powerful step towards accelerating solar adoption in India’s food processing sector. Our shared goal is to make clean energy accessible, helping processors cut costs, reduce emissions, and build resilient businesses for the future.”
Alekh Sanghera, Co-founder & CEO of FarMart, added,
“Reliable energy has become foundational infrastructure for the food economy. We’re excited to collaborate with Aerem to help our partners transition to clean energy and build a future-ready agri-supply chain.”
Anjali Bansal, Founding Partner at Avaana Capital, which backs both companies, called the partnership a “transformative” move that advances both resilience and productivity in the agri value chain.
