CLR Facility Services, a major industry player in India's integrated facility management, has recently announced a $15 million investment from British International Investment (BII).

BII is the UK's development finance institution and impact investor, and the capital infusion is set to fuel CLR's development and sustainability.

CLR plans to modernise infrastructure services, enhance workforce skilling and cutting-edge technology to embed robust environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices throughout its operations.

The BII's investment will also accelerate CLR's expansion across India, providing better employment opportunities to low-income groups and women while adopting sustainable business practices.

The Indian-based company has set forth the goal of expanding its workforce by doubling the current headcount up to 50,000 employees over the course of next five to seven years.

A portion of the funding will also be allocated to establishing training centres in tier-2 cities, where unskilled and semi-skilled workers can access vocational training over the next five years.

"Partnering with BII marks a pivotal moment in our journey toward inclusive and sustainable growth." Gaurav Pathak and Gautam Pathak, Promoters and Directors of CLR Facility Services, said.
"This investment will empower us to create more opportunities for our workforce, drive innovation in facility management, and extend our impact across new markets."

BII manages a portfolio of over $10.8 billion and is a founding member of the 2X Challenge, an initiative that has mobilised over $33.6 billion towards women's economic empowerment.

"In India, over 80% of the workforce, excluding agricultural workers, is in the blue and grey collar sectors that drive the country's economic growth. "
"As the UK's DFI, we focus on supporting inclusive growth by enabling better job and training opportunities for underserved groups." Shilpa Kumar, BII's Managing Director and Head of India remarked.

The investment aligns with BII's broader strategy to foster productive, sustainable, and inclusive economies.

"We are delighted to support CLR's vision, which aligns with the Government of India's initiatives in driving inclusive employment." She added.

This partnership puts CLR Facility Services in an advanced position to expand its reach and invest in people.
