Capsule, the AI-powered video editing startup, has secured $12 million in Series A funding to launch the next version of its platform, the company announced Wednesday.
The upgrade targets marketing, sales, and media teams with new features designed to streamline professional video creation—even for users without editing expertise.
The upcoming release introduces an AI co-producer that actively suggests ways to enhance videos, from recommending footage and sequencing clips to advising where to add titles and graphics.
Users can prompt the AI with requests like “Create a sizzle reel from our latest event,” receiving tailored recommendations throughout the editing process.
Real-time collaborative editing is also on the horizon, enabling multiple team members to work on different video sections simultaneously.
This builds on Capsule’s existing commenting tools, making teamwork smoother and more efficient.
Since its public launch in October 2024, Capsule has attracted enterprise clients such as HubSpot, Instacart, and Ramp.
Its platform already offers features like automatic video transcription, summarisation, image generation, and text animations to accelerate post-production.
The funding round was led by Innovation Endeavors, with participation from HubSpot Ventures and several prominent angel investors.
Capsule plans to use the new capital to expand its product, design, and engineering teams, positioning itself as a leader in AI-driven video creation for brands.
