The 1,000 Dreams Fund (1DF) has announced the formation of the BroadcastHER Coalition for 2025, bringing together leading gaming companies to support women and femmes in the gaming and esports industry through funding, mentorship, and training opportunities.
Unveiled during Women's History Month, the coalition aims to address the stark gender disparity in gaming, where women esports players earn less than 1% of total prize money according to Esports Earnings data.
The initiative kicks off with the annual Streams For Dreams Twitch Charity Fundraiser running March 7-9, with the Twitch Women's Guild returning for a second year to support fundraising efforts.
HyperX and Skillshot Media headline the coalition as title sponsors of the BroadcastHER Academy Fellowship, which provides recipients with $500 microgrants, gaming products, virtual mentorship, and an all-expenses-paid trip to Games Week Georgia to advance their career goals.
"Both Skillshot and Ghost Gaming are committed to uplifting the next generation of women pursuing careers in gaming and esports," said CEO Todd Harris. "On the heels of announcing our Ghost Gaming pro women's team in CS2, we announce our partnership support of the BroadcastHER Coalition!"
Additional partners include Crowd Control, Tantrum Merch, the*gamehers, and DreamHack, each contributing unique opportunities ranging from partnership programs to merchandise collaboration and on-site event access.
Since launching the BroadcastHER Initiative in 2018, 1DF has provided over $500,000 in microgrant funding and hundreds of mentorship hours to beneficiaries worldwide.
The initiative's BroadcastHER Grant awards up to $1,500 to content creators and aspiring gaming professionals for hardware upgrades, conference travel, and educational courses.
This year's fundraising will specifically support travel grants for women to attend TwitchCon 2025 in San Diego, furthering networking and professional development opportunities in an industry where women remain significantly underrepresented.
The coalition will continue to expand throughout 2025, with organizations interested in joining encouraged to contact [email protected] for more information.
